Function as a Service (FaaS)
A category of cloud computing services that provides a platform allowing customers to execute code in response to events without the complexity of building and maintaining the infrastructure.
Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS)
Delivers a cloud-based platform that enables developers to add real-time communications features to their own applications without needing to build backend infrastructure and interfaces.
SaaS
Software as a Service provides a complete software solution that you purchase on a pay-as-you-go basis from a cloud service provider. You rent the use of an app for your organization and your users connect to it over the Internet.
Blockchain as a Service (BaaS)
A cloud service that enables users to build, host, and use their own blockchain apps, smart contracts, and functions on the blockchain while the cloud-based service provider manages all the necessary tasks and activities to keep the infrastructure agile and operational.
Testing as a Service (TaaS)
Delivers testing services for software and applications including quality assurance testing and automation through a cloud model.
Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS)
Offers a suite of cloud services enabling development, execution, and governance of integration flows connecting disparate applications, data, processes, services, and systems.
Management Platform as a Service (mPaaS)
Provides a comprehensive suite of application and system management capabilities in the cloud which helps developers easily build, deploy, and manage their applications.
Desktop as a Service (DaaS)
Provides virtual desktops to users over the internet, licensed with a per-user subscription. The provider takes care of the backend management tasks.
Container as a Service (CaaS)
A cloud service model that allows users to manage and deploy containers, applications, and clusters through container-based virtualization.
Network as a Service (NaaS)
Delivers network services over the internet on a subscription basis. It typically includes bandwidth, VPNs, and cloud networking services.
IaaS
Infrastructure as a Service provides virtualized computing resources over the internet. User has control over operating systems, storage, and deployed applications; and possibly limited control of select networking components.
Database as a Service (DBaaS)
Provides a database on demand without the need for setting up physical hardware, installing software, or configuring for performance.
Storage as a Service (STaaS)
Provides businesses and consumers the facility to store digital data in the cloud with a pay-per-use model. It is highly scalable and accessible over the network.
Data as a Service (DaaS)
Enables data storage, integration, processing, and/or analytics services via a network connection, usually the internet.
Serverless Computing
Allows developers to build and run applications and services without thinking about servers. It eliminates infrastructure management tasks such as server or cluster provisioning, patching, and maintenance.
Information Technology Management as a Service (ITMaaS)
Refers to the delivery of IT management technology as cloud services which allow enterprises to optimize their IT infrastructure management and automate operations.
Security as a Service (SECaaS)
Provides security management from the cloud, which includes anti-virus, intrusion detection, anti-malware/spyware, and more.
PaaS
Platform as a Service provides a platform allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without the complexity of building and maintaining the infrastructure.
Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)
Provides business continuity by enabling data backup, recovery, and retrieval. It is built on cloud computing's flexibility and a pay-as-you-go service model.
Big Data as a Service (BDaaS)
Offers analytical tools and frameworks for working with large data sets over the cloud. Providers host and process the data with the tools necessary to perform big data analytics.
