Discovered by astronomers Carolyn and Eugene M. Shoemaker and David Levy in 1993. It broke apart and collided with Jupiter in 1994. The comet is not periodic as it was destroyed.

Discovered independently by Alan Hale and Thomas Bopp in 1995. Its periodicity is over 2,533 years. Last passed perihelion in 1997.

Discovered by Kaoru Ikeya and Tsutomu Seki in 1965. It is known as a sungrazing comet with a periodicity of roughly 880 years. Last seen in 1965.
