A legal right that grants the creator of original work exclusive rights to its use and distribution, typically for a limited time, with some exceptions.
Integrated circuit layout designs
Protection provided to the creators of original layouts of integrated circuits, which are used in computer hardware and other electronic items.
Plant variety rights
The rights granted to the breeder of a new variety of plant, giving the breeder exclusive control over the plant material and its propagation for a number of years.
Geographical indications
A sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin.
Trade names
The name under which a business operates, which may not necessarily be registered as a trademark but is still protected from being used by other businesses within the same market or locality.

A type of intellectual property that comprises formulas, practices, processes, designs, instruments, or patterns that are not generally known or easily ascertainable.
Moral rights
Rights of creators of copyrighted works to receive credit for their work and to object to any derogatory treatment of it, among other rights.
Industrial models
Protection granted to the three-dimensional form or design of an object that is not purely utilitarian.
Database rights
A form of intellectual property that allows the creator of a database to protect against extraction and reuse of the database contents.
Trademarks
A recognizable sign, design, or expression which identifies products or services of a particular source from those of others and may be protected by law.
Service marks
A trademark used in the United States to identify a service rather than a product. The legal protections for service marks are the same as trademarks.
