Water Keys
Also known as spit valves, these are used to release moisture that has accumulated inside the trumpet.
Third Valve Slide
A small slide that is used to adjust the intonation when the third valve is depressed.
Valve Casings
The outer shells that hold the valves. They provide protection and alignment for the smooth operation of the valves.
Valve Pistons
The internal parts of the valves that move up and down when the player presses the valve buttons, changing the pitch.
Bell
The flared end of the trumpet through which the sound is projected.
Valves
They change the pitch of the trumpet by diverting the air flow through additional tubing, thus lengthening the instrument.
Finger Buttons
The top part of the valves that the player depresses to activate the valve pistons.
Leadpipe
The section of tube where the mouthpiece is inserted. It's important for ensuring the initial pitch stability and tone of the instrument.
Valve Springs
These springs return the valves to their default position after being pressed.
Valve Slide
Connected to each valve, these slides allow the air to reroute through extra tubing when the respective valve is pressed, altering the pitch.
Mouthpiece
A detachable piece where the player buzzes their lips to produce sound. It comes in various sizes and shapes.
Bracing
The strips of metal that stabilize and reinforce the structure of the trumpet, ensuring parts stay aligned and the tone quality remains consistent.
Finger Hook
A hook for the player's non-dominant hand to hold the trumpet comfortably and securely.
Main Tuning Slide
Allows the player to adjust the trumpet's intonation by lengthening or shortening the overall tubing of the instrument.
First Valve Slide
A small slide that is used to adjust the intonation when the first valve is depressed.
