Uplighting
Casting light upwards to illuminate an object from below. Ideal for highlighting trees, statues, or architectural details.
Downlighting
Positioned above the object to cast shadows downward, often used for simulating natural light like moonlight.
Backlighting
Light source is placed behind the object to create a silhouette effect. Ideal for creating a dramatic and mysterious atmosphere.
Spotlighting
Focused light used to highlight specific landscape or architectural features with intense and directed beams.
Path Lighting
Fixtures placed along paths or walkways for visibility and safety, giving a soft, diffused light.
Cross Lighting
Using two or more lights on opposite sides of an object to eliminate shadows and reveal details.
Grazing
Technique where light is positioned close to an interesting surface to emphasize texture by casting shadows.
Silhouetting
Similar to backlighting but with focus on the outline of the object, with the light source being completely hidden.
Washing
Light spread over a large area or surface, such as a wall, to produce a uniform and gentle illumination.
Shadowing
Light is directed towards an object casting its shadow on a surface behind it to create artistic scenes.
Moon Lighting
High fixtures aimed downward through branches, mimicking moonlight filtering through trees. Provides soft, natural ambiance.
