Soprano
Highest female voice type with a vocal range typically from middle C (C4) to high C (C6).
Bass-Baritone
Male voice type with a range between that of a Baritone and a Bass, usually from G2 to G4.
Bass
Lowest male voice type with a vocal range that typically extends from E2 to E4.
Countertenor
A male voice that uses falsetto technique to reach the range of a mezzo-soprano or contralto, typically G3 to D5.
Tenor
Highest male voice type with a vocal range typically from about the C3 to B4.
Mezzo-Soprano
Middle-range female voice type with a vocal range from G3 to A5.
Contralto
Lowest female voice type with a vocal range that typically lies between F3 and F5.
Heldentenor
A heroic tenor with a powerful, rich, and dramatic voice. Vocal range is similar to a lyric tenor but with more heft and endurance, often from C3 to C5.
Coloratura Soprano
A very agile light soprano voice with a high range, capable of fast vocal coloratura. Vocal range typically extends from around C4 to F6.
Baritone
Middle-range male voice with a vocal range extending from A2 to A4.
