Fine
A monetary penalty imposed on an individual or entity for violation of rules or laws. Example: Fines for parking violations, environmental infractions, or non-compliance with financial regulations.
Restitution
A sanction requiring the offender to restore or compensate for the damage caused by their actions. Example: A company may be required to clean up a polluted area or pay compensation to affected parties.
License Suspension
Temporary removal of a person's or entity's permission to engage in a regulated activity. Example: Suspension of a doctor's medical license for malpractice.
License Revocation

Probation

Injunction
A court order requiring an individual or entity to do or to refrain from doing a specific act. Example: An injunction to prevent the sale of a product that infringes on a patent.
Compliance Program
A requirement for a business to implement policies and procedures to ensure adherence to laws and regulations. Example: A financial institution is mandated to create anti-money laundering programs.
Public Censure
An official reprimand given to an individual or entity by a professional or government body. Example: A government official is publicly reprimanded for misconduct in office.
