Square
A quadrilateral with four equal sides and four right angles. Each interior angle is 90 degrees.
Pentagon
A polygon with five edges and five vertices. For a regular pentagon, each interior angle is 108 degrees.
Octagon
A polygon with eight edges and eight vertices. The sum of all interior angles of a regular octagon is 1080 degrees.
Rectangle
A quadrilateral with opposite sides equal and four right angles. The diagonals are equal in length.
Rhombus
A quadrilateral with all four sides equal in length. Opposite sides are parallel, and opposite angles are equal.
Parallelogram
A quadrilateral with both pairs of opposite sides parallel. Opposite angles are equal, as are the lengths of opposite sides.
Triangle
A polygon with three edges and three vertices. The sum of the interior angles is always 180 degrees.
Trapezoid (US) / Trapezium (UK)
A quadrilateral with one pair of parallel sides. The angles next to each base are supplementary.
Circle
A shape with all points in the plane equidistant from its center. The distance from the center to a point on the circle is called the radius.
Hexagon
A polygon with six edges and six vertices. The total interior angles of a regular hexagon add up to 720 degrees.
