Arpeggiation
The notes of a chord are played or sung in a rising or descending order.
Trill
A rapid alternation between two adjacent notes, usually a semitone or tone apart.
Appoggiatura
A grace note which precedes the main note and takes some of its value, creating a dissonant effect that resolves.
Slide
A quick glide from one note to another through all the intermediate pitches.
Inverted Mordent
A single rapid alternation between a note and the note immediately above.
Inverted Turn
A reversed turn sequence which starts with the lower auxiliary note.
Mordent
A single rapid alternation between a note and the note immediately below.

A sequence of four notes that creates a flourish around the main note.

An embellishment consisting of a rapid sequence of notes; also known as a turn.
