Heel
The bottom rear part of a shoe that provides elevation and support.
Sole
The underside of a shoe that comes in direct contact with the ground, providing durability and traction.
Insole
The layer of material inside the shoe on which the foot rests, providing comfort and support.
Toe Box
The front part of the shoe that provides space and protection for the toes.
Upper
The top part of the shoe that covers the foot, usually made of leather, fabric, or synthetic material.
Tongue
A strip of material that sits underneath the laces of a shoe, providing comfort and pressure distribution.
Laces
Strings or cords that are threaded through the eyelets of a shoe to secure it to the foot.
Lining
The material on the inside of a shoe that comes into contact with the foot, intended for comfort and moisture absorption.
Eyelets
Small holes or rings through which laces are threaded, found on the upper part of the shoe.
Outsole
The outermost layer of the sole that is in direct contact with the ground, often made of materials that resist wear.
Counter
A piece of material at the back of the shoe that strengthens the heel area and maintains the shoe's shape.
Vamp
The part of the shoe upper that covers the top of the foot, extending from the toe to the tongue.
Toe Cap
A reinforced section that covers and protects the toe area of the shoe, often decorative.
Foxing
A strip of rubber that is joined to the upper and sole of the shoe at the point where they meet, often found in vulcanized shoes.
Quarter
The back part of the upper that wraps around the heel and sides of the foot, connecting with the vamp in the front.
