Breakdown
A section that reduces the song's complexity, often stripping down to fewer instruments or a simpler melody to create space and dynamics.
Chorus
The most memorable and often repeated section of a song, featuring the main melody and the big message or hook.
Intro
A section that leads into the song, setting the tone for what's to come. It often includes elements that will be heard throughout the track.
Hook
A musical idea, often a memorable melody or phrase, that's designed to catch the listener's ear and become the standout part of a song.
Twelve-bar Blues
A chord progression that lasts for 12 bars and follows a specific pattern, often used in blues and early rock 'n' roll.
Solo
An instrumental section where a single musician showcases their skill, often found in rock, jazz, or blues.
Pre-Chorus
A transitional section that builds anticipation for the chorus. It often leads to a lift in energy or tension.
Outro
The final section of a song, which provides closure and often mirrors or references the intro, winding the song down.
ABA Structure
