Initial Assessment
Check for responsiveness and breathing. If unresponsive and not breathing, shout for help, and begin CPR immediately.
Chest Compressions
Perform 30 compressions at a depth of at least 2 inches for adults or 1/3 the depth of the chest for children, at a rate of 100-120 per minute.
Rescue Breathing
Tilt the victim's head back to open the airway and give 2 rescue breaths. Pinch the nose and cover the victim's mouth with yours to create an airtight seal.
Recovery Position
Once the victim is breathing, place them on their side in a stable recovery position, monitor breathing and responsiveness, and prevent choking if vomiting occurs.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use
Turn on the AED and follow the prompts. If a shock is advised, ensure no one is touching the victim and press the shock button when ready.
