Gels
Transparent colored material placed over lights to change the color temperature or create special lighting effects.
Ring Light
A circular light source that surrounds the camera lens to provide even, diffused light directly on the subject, often used in beauty shots.
Low-Key Lighting

Cucoloris
A device that creates patterned shadows, used to simulate light filtering through objects like leaves or blinds.
Snoot
A tube or similar object attached to a light to concentrate the beam into a smaller, more controlled area.

Three-Point Lighting
A basic lighting setup that uses a key light, fill light, and backlight to properly expose the subject and create dimension.
Fresnel Light
A type of spotlight with a fresnel lens that allows for a variable beam angle, which can be adjusted from tight and direct to wide and diffuse.
Key Light
The main source of light in a scene, usually positioned to one side of the camera to create a shadow effect on the other side of the subject.
Barn Doors
Adjustable flaps attached to the front of a light that are used to control the spread and direction of the light beam.
