Beginning of a round
Players must follow suit if they can
Leading with spades
Spades can be led once they are 'broken'
Determining the winning card
Highest spade wins; if no spades, highest card in the lead suit wins

Teams score 10 points for each bid trick taken, 1 point for each overtrick

Each player is dealt 13 cards in a clockwise manner

Spades can be played as a singles game where each player is on their own
