Denmark
Denmark did not establish colonies in Oceania. It had colonial territories in the North Atlantic, like Greenland.
Netherlands
Territories included parts of Papua of present-day Indonesia. The Dutch presence in Asia and Oceania began in the 17th century and lasted until the mid-20th century.
Germany
Territories included parts of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Nauru. German colonization in Oceania lasted primarily from the late 19th century until World War I.
United States
Territories included Hawaii, Guam, and American Samoa. The United States acquired these territories between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Belgium
While not a colonial power in Oceania, Belgium had extensive colonies in Africa, such as the Belgian Congo.

Territories included New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and Wallis and Futuna. France began colonizing parts of Oceania in the 19th century.
Portugal
Territories included East Timor. Portuguese colonization began in the 16th century and ended in the 20th century.
Japan
Territories included the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, and Palau. Japan held these territories from the early 20th century until the end of World War II.
