United Nations (UN)

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)

World Health Organization (WHO)

Purpose: To conduct research and generate action to prevent and end abuses of human rights, and to demand justice for those whose rights have been violated. Year established: 1961.
Greenpeace
Purpose: To ensure the ability of the Earth to nurture life in all its diversity by campaigning for the environment. Year established: 1971.
Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)
Purpose: To coordinate and unify the petroleum policies of its member countries and ensure the stabilization of oil markets. Year established: 1960.
