Application Submission
Applicants must submit a complete Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form (E-DV Entry Form or DS-5501), online during the specified registration period.
Work Experience Requirement
If the applicant does not meet the educational criterion, they must have two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training or experience to perform.
Educational Requirement
At minimum, applicants must have a high school education or its equivalent, defined as successful completion of a 12-year course of formal elementary and secondary education.
No Multiple Entries
Submitting more than one entry per person per year disqualifies all entries for that individual.
Country of Eligibility
Applicants must be born in countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States. Each year, the U.S. Department of State publishes a list of eligible countries.
