Exposition
The Exposition is the initial part of the dramatic structure where characters, setting, and the basic conflict are introduced. It sets the scene for the narrative and provides the audience with the necessary background information.
Falling Action
Falling Action follows the Climax and shows the consequences of the actions taken during the Climax. This phase leads towards the resolution, showing a release of tension and the beginning of wrapping up the story.
Climax
The Climax is the turning point of the play where the tension or conflict reaches its peak. It is often the most dramatic moment and the point where the protagonist faces their greatest challenge or makes a critical decision.
Denouement/Resolution
The Denouement, or Resolution, concludes the narrative. Conflicts are resolved, loose ends are tied up, and the story comes to a reasonable ending where the characters' lives return to a new normal.
Rising Action
Rising Action consists of a series of events that build upon the initial conflict, leading to an increase in tension or stakes. These events complicate the situation for the protagonist, creating suspense for the audience.
