Flashcards

Flying Warrior
The base partner takes a Warrior II stance, offering their hands for the flyer to step upon. The flyer leans onto the base's hands, straightening their legs into the air and reaching arms forward, mimicking a Warrior pose in flight while they balance on the base's hands.
Standing Partner Backbend
Standing back-to-back, both partners interlock elbows. They lean into each other for support as they slowly bend backward into a backbend, trusting in their partner's stability and support to hold the pose.
Seated Cat-Cow
Sitting back-to-back with crossed legs, partners place their hands on their thighs. On an inhale, they both arch their backs and tilt their heads back for Cow pose, and on the exhale, they round their spines and drop their chins to their chests for Cat pose, moving in unison.
Double Downward Dog
One person assumes the classic Downward Dog position while their partner stands at their end, places their hands on the ground, and lifts their feet to place them on the first person's lower back, aligning their hips with their partner's and forming a sloped 'A' shape together.
Buddy Boat Pose
Sitting face to face, both partners bend their knees slightly, join the soles of their feet together, and grab each other's hands. They lean back, straighten their legs, and balance on their sit bones, creating a double boat shape with their bodies.
Double Tree Pose
Both partners stand side by side, each shifting their weight onto the inside foot. The outside leg lifts so the foot rests against the standing leg's inner thigh, with each partner using their outer arm to wrap around the other's waist. Their other hands can press together in a prayer position to complete the double tree.
Partner Twist
Sitting back-to-back with legs crossed, both partners inhale and reach their arms overhead. On the exhale, one partner turns to the right while the other turns to the left, both placing their right hand on their partner's left knee and left hand on their own right knee, facilitating a mutual spinal twist.
Double Plank
One partner starts in a classic Plank position. The second partner steps into a plank with their hands on the ground just above the base's ankles. The flyer then lifts their legs, placing their ankles on the base's shoulders, maintaining straight bodies, and forming two parallel lines.
Seated Forward Bend & Backbend
One partner sits with legs extended forward and leans into a Seated Forward Bend. The second partner sits on their extended feet, leaning back into a gentle backbend and perhaps reaching for the first partner's hands for an added stretch.
Square Pose
Sitting with legs crossed, the partners face one another. They then lift their arms to shoulder height and gently press the palms of their hands together with their partner's, maintaining a slight resistance to help each other sit taller and deepen the hip stretch.
