Notching
Small cuts along the edges of fabric to indicate alignment points or mark key details in the drape.
Pencil or chalk
Marking the fabric with pencil or tailor’s chalk to indicate drape lines or alterations.
Tailor's tacks
Loosely stitched thread markers used to transfer pattern markings from drape to fabric without ink or chalk.
Tracing wheel and paper
Marking fabric by using a serrated wheel that transfers pattern lines through tracing paper onto the drape.
Clipping
