Stasi

Operation Stopwatch/Gold
Equivalent to Operation Gold, Operation Stopwatch was the British name for the joint intelligence operation aiming to tap into Soviet communications via a tunnel in Berlin.
Operation Gold
A joint US-UK tunnel operation in Berlin to tap Soviet army communication lines. The Soviets were tipped off by a mole, George Blake, and allowed the operation to continue for intelligence purposes.
Aldrich Ames
CIA officer turned KGB mole who compromised the second-largest number of CIA assets. Ames was arrested in 1994 and his betrayal led to significant reforms in the CIA.
