Wings
The sides of the stage that are not visible to the audience, used for entrances and exits.
Apron
The part of the stage that extends past the proscenium arch and into the audience or orchestra pit.
Downstage
The area of the stage closest to the audience.
Center Stage
The middle area of the stage, equidistant from both sides.
Stage Left
The area of the stage on the actor's left when facing the audience.
Upstage
The area of the stage farthest from the audience, towards the back wall.
Proscenium
The part of a theater stage in front of the curtain.
Backstage
The area behind the stage that includes the dressing rooms, green room, and storage areas.
Raked Stage
A slanted stage, where the rear of the stage is higher than the front.
Stage Right
The area of the stage on the actor's right when facing the audience.
