Article IV of the NPT
Article IV recognizes the right of all parties to the treaty to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and commits to facilitating the exchange of equipment, materials, and scientific and technological information for peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
Article I of the NPT
Article I commits nuclear-weapon states not to transfer nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices, and not to assist non-nuclear weapon states in manufacturing or acquiring them.
Article II of the NPT
Article II requires non-nuclear weapon states to not receive, seek, or manufacture nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices.
Article VI of the NPT
Article VI obligates all state parties to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race and to nuclear disarmament.
