Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC)
Purpose: To provide income support tied to historical average benchmark revenue and actual crop revenue. Eligibility: Crop producers, generally when actual crop revenue falls below the guarantee level for the program.
Price Support Program
Purpose: To guarantee a minimum price for agricultural products and to help stabilize agricultural markets. Eligibility: Farmers who produce the eligible commodities.
Direct Payment Subsidy
Purpose: To provide income support to farmers regardless of market prices. Eligibility: Farmers must own land and comply with certain environmental and agricultural practice standards.
Dairy Margin Protection Program (DMPP)
Purpose: To provide payments to dairy producers when the margin between the price of milk and feed costs falls below a certain level. Eligibility: Dairy producers who choose to enroll in the program and pay premiums for coverage.
Crop Insurance Subsidy
Purpose: To protect farmers against the loss of their crops due to natural disasters or loss of revenue due to declines in the prices of agricultural commodities. Eligibility: Farmers must purchase a crop insurance policy.
Market Access Program (MAP)
Purpose: To assist U.S. producers, exporters, private companies, and other trade organizations in promoting agricultural products internationally. Eligibility: U.S. agricultural producers and entities involved in the export of agricultural products.
Conservation Reserve Program (CRP)
Purpose: To reduce soil erosion, improve water quality, and provide wildlife habitat by taking environmentally sensitive land out of agriculture and planting species that will improve environmental health. Eligibility: Farmers with land qualified as environmentally sensitive.
