Human Spaceflight
Purpose: To carry human beings into space, often for research and exploration. Example Missions: Apollo Moon Landings, International Space Station (ISS) expeditions.
Solar Observation Missions
Purpose: To study the Sun and solar phenomena. Example Missions: SOHO, Parker Solar Probe.
Hubble-Type Telescope Missions
Purpose: To observe astronomical objects in space using onboard telescopes. Example Missions: Hubble Space Telescope, James Webb Space Telescope.
Comet and Kuiper Belt Object Missions
Purpose: To investigate comets and objects in the distant Kuiper Belt. Example Missions: Rosetta, New Horizons.
Space Station Resupply Missions
Purpose: To deliver necessary supplies and equipment to space stations. Example Missions: SpaceX CRS, Progress cargo spacecraft.
Asteroid Redirect Missions
Purpose: To study or alter the course of an asteroid. Example Missions: OSIRIS-REx, NASA's Asteroid Redirect Mission (ARM).
Mars Rover Missions
Purpose: To explore the Martian surface and conduct experiments. Example Missions: Mars Pathfinder, Curiosity, Perseverance.
Search for Exoplanets Missions
Purpose: To identify and study planets outside our solar system. Example Missions: Kepler, TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite).
Robotic Space Probe
Purpose: To gather information about celestial bodies without a human crew. Example Missions: Voyager 1 & 2, Pioneer 10 & 11.
Atmospheric Studies Missions
Purpose: To study the Earth's or other planets' atmosphere. Example Missions: MAVEN (Mars), Aeolus (Earth).
