Step 1: Prepare the Fabric

Place the fabric pieces wrong sides together, aligning the edges.

Step 2: First Seam Sewing

Sew the first seam at half the desired seam allowance, usually 1/4 inch (6 mm) from the edge.

Step 3: Trim and Press

Trim the seam allowance to a narrow width, then press the seam flat.

Step 4: Second Seam Preparation

Fold the fabric along the seam, right sides together, and press again to prepare for the second seam.

Step 5: Second Seam Sewing

Sew the second seam with the remaining seam allowance to encase the first seam, usually 1/4 inch (6 mm) from the fold.
