Staccato (.)
Play the note shorter than its notated duration, separating it from the following note.
Accent (>)
Emphasize the note by playing it louder or with a harder attack.

Hold the note for its full value, sometimes with a slight emphasis or stress.
Marcato (^)
Play the note louder and with a more pronounced attack than an accent.
Fermata (𝄐)
Hold the note or rest longer than its written value, at the performer's discretion.

Rapidly alternate between the indicated note and the note above or below, finishing on the indicated note.

Begin on the note above the indicated note, then play the indicated note, the note below, and back to the indicated note.
