Violin
String Family. It is the smallest and highest-pitched instrument in its family.
Viola
String Family. Slightly larger than the violin and has a deeper sound.
Cello
String Family. Known for its rich and deep tones.
Double Bass
String Family. The largest and lowest-pitched bowed string instrument in the modern symphony orchestra.
Harp

Keyboard Family. A large musical instrument with a keyboard that produces sound by striking strings with hammers.
Organ
Keyboard Family. It produces sound by driving pressurized air (called wind) through pipes selected via a keyboard.
Accordion
Free Reed Family. A portable box-shaped musical instrument of the reed organ family played by compressing or expanding the bellows while pressing buttons or keys.
Bagpipes
Wind Family. A woodwind instrument using enclosed reeds fed from a constant reservoir of air in the form of a bag.
Harmonica
Free Reed Family. A small rectangular free-reed instrument having multiple reeds located within air channels and played by inhaling and exhaling through the mouth.
Theremin
Electronic Family. An early electronic musical instrument controlled without physical contact by the thereminist (performer).
