0/10
Reticular Tissue
A network of fine fibrous connective tissue that forms the structural framework of organs such as the liver, lymph nodes, and spleen.
Ligament
Connective tissue that connects bones to other bones, providing stability to joints and guiding motion.
Fascia
A band or sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen, beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs.
Elastic Tissue
Connective tissue made of elastin fibers that allows many tissues in the body to resume their shape after stretching or contracting.
Adipose Tissue
A type of connective tissue that stores energy in the form of fat, provides cushioning, and insulates the body.
Cartilage
A resilient and smooth elastic tissue that reduces friction between joints and absorbs shock.
Blood
A specialized bodily fluid that delivers necessary substances such as nutrients and oxygen to the cells and transports metabolic waste products away from those same cells.
Tendon
A type of connective tissue that connects muscle to bone, allowing for the transfer of force to produce movement.
Bone
A hard, dense connective tissue that forms the structural elements of the skeleton and protects vital organs.
Lymph
A clear fluid that is similar to blood plasma, but contains white blood cells, and is circulated through the lymphatic system to help the body fight infection.
