Beep Test (Pacer Test)
Purpose: To assess aerobic fitness and endurance. Measures: The level reached and shuttles completed in a 20-meter shuttle run as the pace incrementally increases.
Harvard Step Test
Purpose: To assess cardiovascular recovery rate. Measures: The rate of heartbeat recovery after exercise.
Grip Strength Test
Purpose: To assess hand and forearm muscular strength. Measures: The maximal force generated by a handgrip.
Sit and Reach Test
Purpose: To measure flexibility, specifically in the lower back and hamstring muscles. Measures: The distance reached forward while sitting on the floor with legs extended.
VO2 Max Test
Purpose: To determine the maximum oxygen uptake and aerobic endurance capacity. Measures: Milliliters of oxygen used in one minute per kilogram of body weight at peak performance.
Cooper 12-Minute Run Test
Purpose: To estimate VO2 Max and assess aerobic endurance. Measures: The distance covered in a 12-minute continuous run.
Blood Pressure Test
Purpose: To assess cardiovascular health. Measures: Systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
Push-Up Test
Purpose: To evaluate upper body muscular endurance. Measures: The maximum number of push-ups performed consecutively without rest.
Resting Heart Rate (RHR)
Purpose: To assess cardiovascular fitness. Measures: The number of heartbeats per minute at rest.
Vertical Jump Test
Purpose: To measure leg power and explosive strength. Measures: The difference between the reach height and the jump height.
Body Mass Index (BMI)
Purpose: To provide a simple, indicative measure of body composition. Measures: An estimation of body fat based on height and weight.
Skinfold Caliper Test
Purpose: To estimate body fat percentage. Measures: Thickness of skinfolds at specific body locations.
Balke Treadmill Test
Purpose: To estimate cardiovascular fitness - specifically aerobic capacity. Measures: The distance covered in a set period on a treadmill while the gradient or speed is increased at regular intervals.
1 Repetition Maximum (1RM)
Purpose: To measure the maximum strength of a particular muscle group. Measures: The maximum weight that can be lifted once using proper technique.
