Control Valves
Used to start or stop water flow within the irrigation system. Periodic checks for leaks and manual operation to ensure they are functioning correctly is recommended.
Flow Meters
Measure the rate of water flow through the irrigation system. Regular calibration is necessary for accurate readings and to monitor system performance.
Lateral Pipes
Transport water from the sub-main pipes to the emitters. Inspect for uniformity in water distribution and replace or repair any damaged or leaking parts.
Emitters
Deliver water to the plants at a low rate and with high efficiency. Ensure emitters are not clogged and are working at their intended flow rate.
Filters
Prevent debris from entering the irrigation system which could cause blockages. Clean filters regularly and replace them if they show signs of wear or damage.
End Caps
Seal the end of irrigation lines to maintain pressure and prevent dirt and pests from entering. Inspect for leaks and ensure a tight fit to avoid water loss and system inefficiency.
Backflow Prevention Devices
Prevent contaminated water from flowing back into the clean water supply. Test periodically to ensure they are operating correctly and maintain as per local regulations.
Drip Tubing
Flexible tubing used in drip irrigation to deliver water directly to the plant root zone. Flush the system to remove debris and repair any leaks promptly.
Air Release Valves
Expel air from the system to prevent air locks and improve irrigation efficiency. Inspect and maintain to ensure proper function and prevent blockages.
Pressure Regulators
Control and reduce the water pressure within the irrigation system to the recommended level. Check regularly for a consistent output pressure to ensure a uniform water distribution.
Main and Sub-Main Pipes
Transport water from the source to the laterals. Should be checked for leaks and damage, ensuring the pipes are buried or protected from vehicle traffic and UV degradation.
Fertilizer Injectors
Inject fertilizers and chemicals into the irrigation system for distribution to the crops. Calibrate regularly to ensure the correct dosages and check for blockages or leaks.
