Flashcards

The Basic Swirl
Start with light pressure at the tip; create a thin curve, then gradually apply more pressure to widen the line, ending with a delicate twist.
The Overtone
Create a thin upward stroke, loop it over to the left and bring it down in a thick stroke, looping under and to the right, finishing off with a thin upward flick.
The Flourishing Exit
At the end of a word, extend the final stroke outward and upward; add curls or loops for decoration, keeping the pressure even and the design balanced.
Ornamental Loop
Starting at the top, curve the line down and around in a large sweeping loop, adding ornamental flicks and twists before returning to the baseline.
The Underturn
Begin with a small loop at the baseline, pulling the line upwards and tilting slightly to create a thin line, then curve downwards and to the right, finishing with a fade-out.
Ascending Flourish
Begin at the baseline, create a thin upward curve that transitions into a thick stroke as it loops above to the right, then thin out as it softly ends.
Descending Loop
Make a long, downward stroke that extends below the baseline, then curl it into a loop towards the left, and lightly bring the tip up to the baseline.
The Classic Entrance
Before beginning a word, lead in with a small, ornate twist or series of loops that set the tone for the first letter, flowing into the initial stroke.
Inter-letter Connection
Connect letters with an elongated, flowing line that includes loops or curls, maintaining consistent pressure and relative size to the letters.
The Signature End
Finish a name or signature with flair by extending the final letter's stroke into a bold underlining sweep or an elaborate spiral to add emphasis and style.
