Textured Paper
Offers a rough surface that can add an interesting effect to calligraphy. Best used with broad nibs that won't catch on the texture.
Cotton Rag Paper
High-quality, durable, with a soft texture that absorbs ink well. Ideal for professional calligraphy works and final pieces.
Layout Bond Paper
Semi-translucent and smooth, good for practice and initial drafts. It can be used with pencil or ink and is less expensive than cotton rag paper.
Rice Paper
Thin, delicate paper that shows brush strokes and bleed very effectively. Used traditionally in East Asian calligraphy.
Parchment Paper
An imitation of the traditional medieval parchment. Great for certificates or decorative pieces but can be tricky for beginners due to its slick surface.
