Media Monitoring
The process of reading, watching, or listening to the editorial content of media sources, and then identifying, saving and analyzing content that contains specific keywords or topics.
News Hook
A current event or piece of information that makes a story relevant and interesting to the media and its audience.
Sound Bite
A short extract from a recorded interview, chosen for its pithiness or appropriateness.
Media Outlet
A publication or broadcast program that provides news and feature stories to the public, like a newspaper, magazine, TV network, or online platform.
Public Service Announcement (PSA)
A message in the public interest disseminated by the media without charge, with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes and behavior towards a social issue.
Satellite Media Tour (SMT)
A series of pre-booked, one-on-one interviews with television journalists, usually done by a spokesperson, that are transmitted via satellite.
