Battery Fluid (Electrolyte)
Purpose: Conducts electricity within the battery cells to help start the car. Change: Maintenance-free batteries do not require a change; refill as needed in serviceable batteries.
Coolant (Antifreeze)
Purpose: Maintains engine temperature and prevents freezing and overheating. Change: Every 30,000 to 50,000 miles or every 2-3 years.
Air Conditioning Refrigerant
Purpose: Absorbs heat to provide cooling inside the vehicle. Change: Recharge as needed, usually when A/C performance decreases.
Power Steering Fluid
Purpose: Transfers power in the steering system allowing for easier steering. Change: Inspect regularly and top off; flush and replace every 50,000 miles if needed.

Differential Fluid
Purpose: Lubricates the differential to transfer power from the engine to the wheels. Change: Typically every 30,000 to 60,000 miles.
