Squirrel Cage Induction Motor
A type of induction motor with a cage-like rotor, requiring no brushes. It's robust and requires low maintenance, ideal for industrial fans, blowers, and pumps.
Synchronous Motor
Operates at a constant speed irrespective of the load. The rotor speed is synchronized with the frequency of the supply current. Suitable for applications where constant speed is necessary, such as clocks and record players.
Servo Motor
Provides precise control of angular position, velocity, and acceleration. Commonly used in robotics, conveyor belts, and camera auto focus systems.
Permanent Magnet DC Motor
Utilizes permanent magnets on the rotor and operates with direct current. Known for its simplicity and ease of control, it’s used in battery-powered electric vehicles and toys.
Universal Motor
A type of electric motor that can operate on either AC or DC power supply. It’s extensively used in portable power tools and domestic appliances like blenders and vacuum cleaners.
Hysteresis Motor
Operates using hysteresis losses in the rotor to produce torque. It has a smooth and vibration-free operation, perfect for applications like electric clocks and recording instruments.
Brushless DC Motor
A synchronous motor powered by DC electricity via an integrated inverter which produces an AC electric signal to drive the motor. Utilized in applications requiring high reliability like computer hard drives and electric vehicles.
Split-phase Motor
An AC motor with a start winding and a main winding that create differing phase angles, aiding in motor startup. Often used in washing machines and air compressors.
Induction Motor
Operates on electromagnetic induction principle where a rotating magnetic field causes the rotor to spin. Common in industrial applications such as pumps and conveyor systems.
Stepper Motor
A brushless DC electric motor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps. Perfect for precision control found in 3D printers and CNC machines.
