Digital Voltmeter (DVM)
Primary use is to measure voltage with high accuracy. Unlike an analog voltmeter, a DVM provides a digital readout and is widely used in laboratories and field service work.
Network Analyzer
Primary use is to characterize the network parameters of electrical networks; used to design, test, and optimize radio frequency (RF) and microwave circuits and systems.
Insulation Tester
Primary use is to measure the insulation resistance of electrical wiring and equipment, typically to ensure safety and detect if there is deterioration or damage.
Spectrum Analyzer
Primary use is to analyze the spectral composition of electrical signals. It can indicate the power of the various spectral components and is widely used in wireless communication testing.
LCR Meter
Primary use is to measure the inductance (L), capacitance (C), and resistance (R) of electronic components; critical for circuit design and component selection.
Clamp Meter
Primary use is to measure current without the need to break the circuit. The clamp meter has jaws which allow it to be clamped around a conductor to measure the current flow.
Logic Analyzer
Primary use is to capture and display multiple signals from digital systems and circuits. It is essential for debugging hardware, validating designs, and testing digital systems.
Multimeter
Primary use is to measure voltage, current, and resistance. A multimeter can be either analog or digital and is used for troubleshooting and testing electronic components and circuits.
Function Generator
Primary use is to generate electrical waveforms over a wide range of frequencies. It is typically used to test electronic circuit responses and for signal processing applications.
Oscilloscope
Primary use is to visualize electrical signals as waveforms. It allows measurement of signal frequency, amplitude, and other characteristics, often used in design, manufacturing, and repair of electronic equipment.
Signal Analyzer
Primary use is for advanced analysis of signal quality and content, including modulation, noise, and spectral emissions, crucial in communication system testing and design.
Frequency Counter
Primary use is to measure the frequency of repetitive electrical signals. It is widely used for calibrating other test equipment and troubleshooting signal generators and other devices.
