Dining Table
A large table, often the focal point of a dining room, around which guests are seated for meals. Ideally, it should be placed centrally, ensuring ample walkway space around it.
Chairs
Designed to match or complement the dining table, chairs should provide comfortable seating and support. They are best arranged evenly spaced around the dining table.
Sideboard
A piece of furniture for storing linens, dishes, and silverware. It should be placed against a wall, close to the dining table for easy access but not obstructing pathways.
Buffet Tables
Used for displaying food in a self-service manner. It should be located within easy reach of the dining table but in a manner that prevents congestion during service.
Host Stand
Where the maître d’ or host manages reservations and waiting lists. It should be placed near the entrance, efficiently managing guest flow without crowding.
Bar Stools
Designed for seating at the bar or high counters. They should be placed to allow enough room for guests to sit comfortably and for staff to navigate.
Wait Stations
Area for waitstaff to organize their supplies and documents. Must be discreetly placed yet accessible, with a view of the majority of tables they serve.
Sommelier Table
A small table for the wine expert to display and prepare wine selections. Optimally, it should be positioned in a quieter area, close to those guests who order wine.
Credenza
A piece of dining furniture often used for decorative displays or additional storage. Should be against a wall out of the way of main traffic flow.
Serving Cart
Mobile furniture for transporting food and dishes to and from the kitchen. It should be sturdy, easily maneuverable, and stored out of the way when not in use.
