Clean and Jerk
First pulling the barbell to the shoulders (clean), then driving it overhead (jerk). Muscles involved: quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus maximus, deltoids, triceps, and core muscles.
Front Squat
Squatting with the barbell on the front shoulders. Muscles involved: quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus maximus, and erector spinae.

Pulling the barbell from the ground to overhead in one motion without re-bending the knees. Muscles involved: quadriceps, hamstrings, trapezius, deltoids, and triceps.
Snatch
Pulling the barbell from the ground to overhead in one continuous motion. Muscles involved: quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus maximus, trapezius, deltoids, and triceps.
Push Press
Lifting the barbell overhead with the assistance of a partial leg drive. Muscles involved: quadriceps, deltoids, triceps, and core muscles.
Power Clean
Pulling the barbell to the shoulders without dropping into a full squat. Muscles involved: quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus maximus, deltoids, and trapezius.
Deadlift
Lifting the barbell from the ground to hip level. Muscles involved: erector spinae, hamstrings, gluteus maximus, quadriceps, and trapezius.
