New England IPA (NEIPA)
Characterized by a hazy appearance and a juicy, fruity flavor profile with low bitterness.
Double IPA (DIPA) / Imperial IPA
Higher alcohol content than classic IPAs with a stronger hop character, but balanced with more malt.
Session IPA
Lower alcohol content, making it more drinkable, while still offering hoppy flavors and aromas.
Black IPA / Cascadian Dark Ale
Features dark roasted malts, giving off coffee and chocolate flavors alongside traditional IPA hoppiness.
Belgian IPA
Fuses the yeast-driven fruity and spicy flavors of Belgian ales with the hop-forward nature of IPAs.
Milkshake IPA
Contains lactose for sweetness and a creamy texture, often including fruit and vanilla flavors.
Brut IPA
Very dry, light, and crisp with a high carbonation level, similar to brut champagne.
Sour IPA
Combines the hop character of an IPA with the tartness and acidity of a sour ale.
Triple IPA
Even more intense than DIPAs, with very high ABV and an explosion of hop flavors.
Rye IPA
Incorporates rye malt for a spicier and more complex malt profile, contrasting with hop bitterness.
