Psychosomatic Disorder Definition
Any illness which involves both mind and body and where psychological factors have a significant impact on the development, progression, and resolution of the physical symptoms.
Somatization Disorder
A psychological disorder characterized by the presentation of a physical illness without a clear cause, where symptoms are not intentionally produced or feigned.
Conversion Disorder
A mental condition in which a person experiences blindness, paralysis, or other neurologic symptoms that can't be explained by medical evaluation.
Pain Disorder
Pain disorder is when a person experiences severe pain that is primarily influenced by psychological factors and the pain causes significant distress and impairment.
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)
A mental disorder characterized by obsessive focus on a perceived flaw in appearance which to others may seem minor or not observable.
Hypochondriasis
