Flashcards
0/2
Weather
Weather refers to the short-term (minutes to weeks) state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time. It includes conditions such as temperature, humidity, precipitation, cloudiness, visibility, and wind. For example, a sunny day with a high of 75°F (24°C), a humidity of 50%, and a gentle breeze is describing the weather.
Climate
Climate is the long-term average (over a period of at least 30 years) of weather conditions and patterns at a particular region. It encompasses the range of possible weather events and their frequency. For instance, a Mediterranean climate features wet winters and dry summers, and is characteristic of coastal regions in southern Europe.
