Jab
A quick, straight punch thrown with the lead hand from the guard position.
Cross
A powerful straight punch thrown with the rear hand across the body.
Hook
A semi-circular punch thrown with the lead or rear hand aimed at the side of the opponent's head or body.
Uppercut
A vertical rising punch thrown with the rear or lead hand targeting the opponent's chin or torso.
Overhand
A looping punch thrown with the rear hand over the top of the opponent's guard.
Bolo Punch
A wide swinging uppercut or hook with an exaggerated wind-up.
Check Hook
A defensive hook thrown as the opponent advances, often pivoting off to the side.
Counter Punch
Any punch thrown immediately after avoiding or blocking the opponent's attack.
