Stop Signal
Arm extended downward with palm facing backward. Used to signal a stop to cyclists or vehicles behind.
Slowing Down Signal
Arm extended downward at an angle with palm facing rearward. Used to indicate slowing down.
Right Turn Signal (Option 1)
Left arm held upwards at a 90-degree angle at the elbow. Used to indicate intention to turn right.
Hazard Signal
Pointing down at the road or object or waving in a small motion to signal a road hazard like potholes or debris.
Group Stopping Signal
Cyclist at the front raises hand high with a closed fist to indicate the entire group is stopping.
Mechanical Problem Signal
Raising the bike slightly off the ground or pointing to it, indicating a mechanical issue.
Car Back Signal
A tap on the hip or a backward wave motion to indicate a vehicle is approaching from behind.
Paceline Rotation Signal
The lead cyclist flicks or waves the arm to signal the next rider in the paceline to rotate to the front.
Right Turn Signal (Option 2)
Right arm held out horizontally to the side. Used to indicate intention to turn right.
Take the Lead Signal
Flick of the elbow outwards, indicating that a following cyclist should overtake and take the lead position.
Trail Clear Signal
A pat on the head or waving the hand over the helmet to indicate the trail is clear.
Train Coming Signal
Swinging the arm in a forward circular motion to warn of an approaching train at a railroad crossing.
Left Turn Signal
Left arm held out horizontally to the side. Used to indicate intention to turn left.
Single File Signal
A pat on the back or motion with the hand pointing downward; indicates that a cyclist should get into a single file.
Debris Signal
Pointing behind the back to indicate that debris on the roadway should be avoided.
