Flashcards
0/5
Forming
Team members get to know each other and establish informal relationships. There is a high dependence on the leader for guidance and direction. Little agreement on team aims other than received from leader. Individual roles and responsibilities are unclear.
Storming
Team members confront the team's tasks and how they will work together. This often leads to conflicts between team members as power and status are contested. Many teams fail during this stage.
Norming
The team establishes its values and norms regarding mutual cooperation. Team members come to respect each other and work more efficiently together. There is often a sense of team cohesion, unity, and trust.
Performing
The team is more strategically aware and knows clearly why it is doing what it is doing. The team has a shared vision and is able to stand on its own feet with little interference from the leader.
Adjourning
The team completes the task at hand and is disbanded. Team members experience anxiety and sadness as they separate from the team. Reflection on the team's work and capturing lessons learned is common.
