Nasal Cannula
A low-flow oxygen delivery system designed to add oxygen to the air a person is breathing. Appropriate for patients who require a low to moderate level of supplemental oxygen.
Non-rebreather Mask
A high-flow oxygen delivery system that includes a bag to store oxygen, ensuring the patient inhales a high concentration of oxygen. Used for patients in critically low oxygen scenarios.
Simple Face Mask
A low-flow device that covers the patient's nose and mouth. Suitable for short-term oxygen therapy for patients who require a higher concentration of oxygen than a nasal cannula can provide.
Oxygen Conserving Devices (OCD)
These devices conserve oxygen by delivering it only during the inhalation phase. Suitable for patients using portable oxygen systems.
High Flow Nasal Cannula
Delivers heated and humidified oxygen at higher rates than a standard nasal cannula. Ideal for patients needing higher rates of oxygen with comfort.
Venturi Mask
A high-flow oxygen delivery device that mixes oxygen with room air, creating a high-velocity, low-volume jet. Suitable for patients who need a precise concentration of oxygen.
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Mask
A device that keeps the airways open by providing a continuous stream of air under pressure. Used mostly for sleep apnea but also in some respiratory failure conditions.
Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) Mask
Delivers two levels of pressure: higher during inhalation and lower during exhalation. Appropriate for patients with respiratory failure and sleep apnea, who cannot tolerate CPAP.
Oxygen Tent
An enclosure around the patient's bed to provide high oxygen concentration. Used mainly in pediatric care for children who are not able to use masks or cannulas comfortably.
Transtracheal Oxygen Therapy
Involves delivering oxygen directly to the lungs through a small catheter inserted into the trachea. Designed for long-term oxygen therapy for chronic hypoxemia.
