This intelligence involves sensitivity to spoken and written language, the ability to learn languages, and the capacity to use language to accomplish certain goals.
Linguistic Intelligence
Characterized by the ability to think in three dimensions. Core capacities include mental imagery, spatial reasoning, image manipulation, graphic and artistic skills, and an active imagination.
Spatial Intelligence
Entails the capacity to understand oneself, to have an effective working model of oneself—including own's own desires, fears, and capacities—and to use such information effectively in regulating one's own life.
Intrapersonal Intelligence
This type of intelligence shows itself as the ability to recognize and understand other people's moods, desires, motivations, and intentions.
Interpersonal Intelligence
This intelligence is characterized by the ability to detect patterns, reason deductively and think logically. This intelligence is most often associated with scientific and mathematical thinking.
Logical-Mathematical Intelligence
Involves skill in the performance, composition, and appreciation of musical patterns. It encompasses the ability to recognize and compose musical pitches, tones, and rhythms.
Musical Intelligence
This form of intelligence manifests as the ability to use one's physical body skillfully and to handle objects adroitly. People with this intelligence communicate well through body language and be taught through physical activity.
Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence
Characterized by a sensitivity to, and appreciation for nature, allowing the individual to easily recognize flora and fauna, make distinctions in the natural world, and to use this ability practically in fields such as farming, botany, or animal care.
