Flashcards
0/6
Limbic Lobe
Involved in emotion, behavior, motivation, and long-term memory. Associated areas include the limbic system structures such as the amygdala, hippocampus, and cingulate gyrus.
Frontal Lobe
Involved in executive functions, motor performance, language, and decision making. Associated areas include the prefrontal cortex, primary motor cortex, and Broca's area.
Insular Lobe (Insula)
Involved in taste perception, empathy, and processing viscerosensory information. Associated areas include the gustatory cortex and regions involved in interoceptive awareness.
Temporal Lobe
Responsible for auditory processing, memory, and speech. Associated areas include the primary auditory cortex, Wernicke's area, and the hippocampus.
Parietal Lobe
Processes sensory information such as touch, temperature, and pain. Associated areas include the primary somatosensory cortex and the somatosensory association cortex.
Occipital Lobe
Dedicated to vision and visual processing. Associated areas include the primary visual cortex and the visual association area.
