Patriarchy
A social system in which men hold primary power and predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, and control of property. It has significant influence on gender roles and relations.
Familism
A social structure where the needs and interests of the family as a group are more important than the needs of any individual family member. This concept is significant in many collectivist societies.
Monogamy
