Flashcards

Final Judgment Rule
A final judgment must resolve all issues in the case and leave nothing for the court to do but execute the decision.
Interlocutory Orders
Interlocutory orders are decisions made by the court before the final judgment, and they are generally not appealable unless an exception applies.
Orders Involving Injunctions
Orders granting, modifying, or refusing to grant or modify injunctions are typically appealable because they could cause irreparable harm if review is delayed.
Certified Questions
These are specific questions of law that a trial court believes are necessary for immediate resolution by an appellate court before proceeding further in the case.
Collateral Orders
These orders resolve issues that are separate from the merits of the case and too important to be denied immediate review.
